Food Education

Slow Food believes that by understanding where our food comes from, how it was produced, and by whom, adults and children can learn how to combine pleasure and responsibility in daily choices and appreciate the cultural and social importance of food.

Many of the activities organized by Slow Food convivia in Australia aim to bring the message of good, clean, and fair food to our communities by organizing educational events for children, Slow Food members, and the general public. Educational activities and programs take many different forms: school gardens, guided tastings, farm visits, knowledge exchange between generations, practical workshops and meals with producers, and farmers’ market stalls.
