A TASTE of Slow is a biennial event organised by Slow Food in Victoria. Across the state, A Taste of Slow celebrates local, seasonal produce and the restoration of time-honoured food production and preparation methods, informs people about the ethical implications of food choice, and encourages the sharing of food at convivial tables.

In two weeks more than 50,000 people attended luncheons, picnics, dinners, markets, talks and a short, slow film festival. Participants were able to hear the thoughts of well known chefs such as Kylie Kwong and internationally acclaimed authors and activists such as Greg Critser and Canadian farmer Percy Schmeiser. A Taste of Slow 2008 was part of Melbourne Food and Wine and supported by Melbourne daily broadsheet The Age.

For A Taste of Slow 2010, Slow Food Melbourne and Victorian convivia are planning events in Gippsland, a rich farming area east of Melbourne.
