On a national level, Australian Slow Foodies gather once a year to attend the annual Australian National Conference, hosted by one of the convivia. The 2016 conference will be held in Mildura from 17-20 November. Programme and tickets will be available soon.
Internationally – representatives of Slow Food Australia participate in many of the gatherings organized by Slow Food International. These include AsioGusto (the biennial celebration of food traditions of Asia and Oceania); Terra Madre Salone del Gusto (the global meeting of the Slow Food and Terra Madre network held every two years in Turin, Italy), Slow Cheese (an event dedicated to milk in all its shapes and forms, held every two years in Bra, Italy), Indigenous Terra Madre (a meeting of representatives of indigenous communities and food producers from around the world), Slow Fish (an biennial event dedicated to sustainable fishing, held every two years in Genoa, Italy). All of these events are unique opportunities to meet with the global Slow Food Network to share knowledge and experiences, and to promote Australian Slow Food activities to fellow foodies.
